Human Respiratory System

The human respiratory system’s main job is gas exchange: taking in essential oxygen for cells and expelling waste carbon dioxide, a process driven by breathing (inhalation/exhalation). Beyond breathing, it also enables speech (vocalization), smell (olfaction), filters air, and helps regulate blood pH, working with the circulatory system to deliver oxygen and remove CO2 throughout the body.
